17-year-old arrested over Limassol car arson, police say

Limassol, Cyprus. Police said a 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a car arson that occurred on February 25, 2026, in Limassol. The vehicle was destroyed and a residential building sustained damage, police said.


Fire at residential building car park

Police said that at around 2.40am on February 25, a fire broke out in a vehicle belonging to a 28-year-old woman while it was parked in the car park of a residential building in the Limassol district. The blaze destroyed the vehicle and caused damage to the building’s walls.

Investigation and arrests

Police said testimony emerged during the investigation implicating the 17-year-old, who was arrested early on Tuesday under a court warrant and taken into custody. A 32-year-old man had previously been arrested in connection with the case and was later released pending the completion of police investigations after a six-day detention order expired.
