Russians are leaders in getting the citizenship of Cyprus.
Cyprus Mail has published the statistics from 2014, which states that in total there were 2277 approved applications for citizenship to the foreigners. Around 30% of the applicants are Russian citizens. The second place (15,5%) are Greek national and almost the same is the number of the British citizens.
Overall, during the 2014, 890,000 people got the EU citizenship, whereas 7 years ago around 5 million citizenships were granted to the applicants.
