75 illegal antique traders were arrested in Cyprus

During the large-scale police operation directed by Cypriot and Spanish police and customs officers, over 3,000 stolen artifacts, including archaeological findings from Europe were found.

Mostly it is coins, museum exhibits and other stolen items which were to be sold on the black market.

The operation codenamed “Pandora” also attracted specialists from Interpol, UNESCO and World Customs Organisation to combat theft and illegal trafficking of cultural artifacts.
