9 Turkish Colonels of the troops, which are located on the so-called Northern Cyprus, were arrested and charged with supporting of the oppositional Prophet Fethullah Gullen.
According to the sources within the military, the officers were taken to Ankara on two military airplanes and they houses were searched.
The Turkish authorities blamed Gullen for attempted governmental coup on 16th of July 2016. On that day 240 Turkish citizens were killed and more than 2,000 were wounded. The coup, however, failed.
