Akrotiri, Cyprus. Pupils from the nursery and primary school in Akrotiri, closed for a week after a drone strike on the British Akrotiri air force base, will attend classes in Kolossi, reports said on Monday.
Temporary relocation of classes
Reporter said classes will take place at the nursery school and the second primary school in Kolossi, located north of the Akrotiri base area and west of the Limassol suburb of Ypsonas.
Reason for the move
The report said the measure was taken to ensure children do not miss more lessons, given the extension of the evacuation order in the area until this coming Friday, and that parents have been informed.
Accommodation for evacuees
People who evacuated Akrotiri after last week’s drone strike are being housed in two hotels in Limassol and at the Saint George monastery near Erimi.
