Nicosia, Cyprus. The American Chamber of Commerce in Cyprus (AmCham Cyprus) said it held a strategic dialogue with Deputy Minister to the President Irene Piki on key economic and business priorities. Acting Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy Shane Siegel attended the meeting.
Focus of the meeting
AmCham Cyprus said the meeting brought together government and business stakeholders for what it described as a constructive and forward-looking exchange. Discussions centred on competitiveness, regulatory effectiveness and public–private cooperation, as well as Cyprus’ positioning as a credible and stable partner in the region.
International partnerships and innovation
The chamber said particular emphasis was placed on strengthening international partnerships that can support sustainable growth and innovation within the Cypriot economy.
US-Cyprus strategic relationship
A significant portion of the talks focused on the US-Cyprus strategic relationship and ongoing bilateral and regional initiatives aimed at enhancing economic and institutional cooperation. These include the US-Cyprus Strategic Dialogue, which provides a structured framework covering areas such as trade and investment, energy, digital transformation, education and security.
Regional cooperation initiatives
Reference was also made to regional cooperation initiatives, including the 3+1 format involving the United States, Greece and Israel, which supports stability and energy cooperation in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Sectoral opportunities
The exchange highlighted opportunities to deepen collaboration in sectors such as technology and innovation, clean energy, professional services and talent development, building on existing transatlantic ties and shared values.
