Aradippou municipality tenders €4.25 million solar farm project in Larnaca district

Aradippou, Cyprus. Aradippou municipality in the Larnaca district has announced plans to build a new solar farm valued at more than €4 million and has issued a tender for its construction. The project is expected to take 18 months to complete.


Project scope and financing

The municipality said the solar farm will have an output of 3.61 megawatts and an estimated total cost of €4.25 million. It said the project will be financed entirely from the municipality’s own resources.

Municipal strategy and existing initiatives

The municipality said the solar farm will support its strategy for sustainable development and energy autonomy, and contribute to Cyprus’ national goals for the environment and the green transition. It said the facility will be added to its existing network of renewable energy projects, which includes another large solar farm and the introduction of zero-emissions vehicles under the European Union’s “Ecorouts” programme.

Mayor’s comments

Mayor Christodoulos Partou said the project is a step toward the municipality’s energy autonomy and sustainable development. He said the municipality has a responsibility to invest in projects that protect the environment, reduce energy costs, and create a more modern and resilient future for residents, adding that the green transition is a political choice with continuity, consistency, and vision.
