Cloud cover and isolated rain expected across Cyprus, with frost in the mountains

Nicosia, Cyprus. Increased cloud cover is forecast across Cyprus on Monday, with isolated rain and the possibility of an occasional storm. Frost is expected in the mountains early on Tuesday morning.


Monday forecast

Clouds are expected to increase across most of the island, producing isolated rain and possibly an isolated storm. Temperatures are set to rise to 19 degrees Celsius inland and on the west, southwest, and north coasts, 20 degrees Celsius on the southeast and east coasts, and eight degrees Celsius in the mountains.

Overnight into Tuesday

Cloud cover is expected to persist overnight, with isolated rain still possible. Temperatures are forecast to fall to six degrees Celsius inland, 10 degrees Celsius on the south, north, and east coasts, 13 degrees Celsius on the west coast, and two degrees Celsius in the mountains.

Frost is expected to form in the mountains during the early hours of Tuesday morning. Tuesday is forecast to remain largely cloudy, with rain possible in the afternoon.

The weather is expected to remain similar on Wednesday and Thursday, with hailstones possible on both days. Skies are expected to begin clearing from Thursday afternoon onward.

Temperature trend and snow depth

Temperatures are forecast to rise on Tuesday and remain stable until Thursday. As of dawn, the depth of snow on Mount Olympus was eight centimetres.
