Brussels, Belgium. European Council President António Costa said he was “appalled” by the treatment of Gaza flotilla detainees by Israeli Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and called for their immediate release.

Video footage from Wednesday showed Israeli police forcing activists from the Gaza-bound aid flotilla to kneel in rows with their hands tied behind their backs as Ben-Gvir looked on and commented about them.
Costa posts criticism on X
“Appalled by the treatment of flotilla members by Israeli Minister Ben-Gvir. This behaviour is completely unacceptable. We call for their immediate release,” Costa wrote on X.
