Court postpones hearing in Stylianos Constantinou suicide case

Nicosia, Cyprus. A hearing in the court case into the suicide of 14-year-old Stylianos Constantinou was postponed on Wednesday due to a setback in proceedings. The main witness is now scheduled to testify on Thursday at 11am.


Witness testimony rescheduled

During Wednesday’s hearing before the Nicosia district court, the testimony of the main witness, who served as a liaison officer for Stylianos’ case between 2010 and 2011, was rescheduled for Thursday.

Next stage of proceedings

The witness’ testimony is expected to conclude the prosecuting authority’s examination of its main witness. Cross-examination by the defence attorneys is set to follow.

Case under examination

The case concerns the investigation into the death of Stylianos Constantinou, who took his own life in 2019 at the age of 14. The court is examining potential neglect by the family and among state services.
