CyFi 2026 returns to Nicosia with three-day genre film festival at Pantheon Cinema

Detached House

Nicosia, Cyprus. Cyprus’ genre film festival CyFi is returning to Nicosia eight years after its first edition in 2018. The three-day event will run from Friday to Sunday at Pantheon Cinema.

Festival programme and aims

The festival will present exclusive film screenings, national premieres, talks on storytelling, Q&As with filmmakers and directors, and a video game tournament.

CyFi 2026 aims to serve as a meeting point for filmmakers, audiences and those interested in genre storytelling in contemporary cinema. The organisers said the festival seeks to showcase genre cinema, support emerging voices from the Mediterranean region, and connect Cyprus with the international genre film community.

Organisers and partners

CyFi is organised by GeekOtopos Collaborative Hive, a non-profit organisation. Local partners include Styx Film Encounters, Geek Mania and Brave New Media.
