Cyprus and UAE sign energy cooperation memorandum in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Cyprus Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos visited Abu Dhabi on Friday and signed a memorandum of understanding on energy cooperation with the UAE’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.


Memorandum on energy cooperation

Cyprus’ foreign ministry said in a post on X that the memorandum establishes a long-term and structured framework for cooperation across the entire energy chain, creating conditions for the development of joint initiatives in a wide range of energy sectors.

The ministry said the MoU is aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation across the entire energy chain and facilitating joint initiatives in the energy sector.

Focus on bilateral ties and regional projects

According to the foreign ministry, the memorandum is intended to enhance and strengthen ties between Cyprus and the UAE, while laying foundations for future synergies, investments, and value-added development projects in the wider region.
