Nicosia, Cyprus. Average monthly earnings of employees in Cyprus rose to €2,605 in 2025, according to a report based on provisional data published by the state statistical service, Cystat. The median salary was €1,968.
Average and median earnings
Cystat reported that the gap between average and median earnings points to disparities in income distribution. Average earnings can be influenced by higher earners, while the median shows the midpoint of earnings.
Fourth-quarter results
In the fourth quarter of 2025, average gross monthly earnings were €2,932, compared with €2,810 in the same quarter of 2024, an increase of 4.4 per cent. On a seasonally adjusted basis, earnings rose by 1.1 per cent quarter-on-quarter from the third quarter of 2025.
Earnings by gender
Male employees recorded average earnings of €3,102, while female employees earned €2,718. Compared with the fourth quarter of 2024, earnings increased by 4.2 per cent for men and 4.5 per cent for women.
Annual trend
For the full year, average earnings rose by 4.9 per cent in 2025, following a 5.1 per cent increase in 2024.
