Cyprus beer deliveries fall 2.4 per cent in May as exports drop sharply

Nicosia, Cyprus. Cyprus’ total beer deliveries fell by 2.4 per cent year on year in May 2026, according to data released by the Cyprus Statistical Service, with the decline mainly driven by a sharp contraction in exports. Total deliveries to the domestic market and abroad reached 4,389,649 litres, down from 4,497,608 litres in May 2025.


Exports decline

Beer exports dropped by 31.3 per cent in May 2026 compared with the same month a year earlier. Export volumes fell to 262,090 litres from 381,641 litres, indicating a significant decline in external demand.

Domestic market stable

Domestic beer deliveries in Cyprus rose by 0.3 per cent year on year, pointing to relative stability in local consumption. Home market deliveries reached 4,127,559 litres in May 2026.

Monthly increase

Despite the annual decline, total beer deliveries increased on a month-on-month basis. Compared with April 2026, total beer deliveries rose by 984,623 litres, representing an increase of 28.9 per cent.
