Cyprus chamber urges SMEs to join EU survey on workplace safety and subcontracting chains

Nicosia, Cyprus. The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry has called on small and medium-sized enterprises to take part in a European Commission survey on occupational safety and health and the protection of workers’ rights in subcontracting chains. The initiative is being carried out within the framework of the Enterprise Europe Network as preparatory work for the forthcoming Quality Jobs Act.

Survey focus

The chamber said the European Commission is seeking data and practical business experience regarding existing policies and practices related to occupational health and safety. The survey also examines the protection of workers’ rights in subcontracting chains, along with the benefits and costs of applying these policies for individual businesses.

Policy preparation

According to the chamber, participation is important because the results will directly influence the development of future European employment and job quality policies. The Quality Jobs Act aims to align employment standards with the needs of the modern economy.

How to participate

Interested businesses can complete the questionnaire online until July 27, 2026. The chamber said participants do not need to create or use an EU Login account and invited all eligible businesses to contribute their views so that future regulations better reflect the specific needs of European SMEs.
