Cyprus construction materials price index rises slightly in February 2026

Nicosia, Cyprus. Construction materials prices in Cyprus recorded a modest increase in February 2026, reflecting gradual cost pressures in the sector, according to the Cyprus Statistical Service (Cystat).


Index level and monthly, annual changes

The price index of construction materials reached 119.28 units in February 2026, based on 2021 as the base year.

On a month-on-month basis, the index rose by 0.33 per cent compared with January 2026. On a year-on-year basis, it increased by 0.60 per cent compared with February 2025.

Category movements

Electromechanical products recorded the largest increase at 2.27 per cent. Products of wood, insulation materials, chemicals and plastics rose by 1.64 per cent, while minerals increased by 0.94 per cent.

Metallic products declined by 0.45 per cent, and mineral products registered a decrease of 0.08 per cent.

Early-year comparison and methodology

For the first two months of the year, the index increased by 0.84 per cent compared with the same period of 2025.

Cystat said the index reflects the evolution of construction material costs incurred by contractors, and that data are collected monthly based on a sample of products and suppliers.
