Cyprus construction materials price index rises to 118.89 in January 2026, Cystat says

Nicosia, Cyprus. The Price Index of Construction Materials in Cyprus rose to 118.89 units in January 2026, with 2021 as the base year set at 100 units, according to the Cyprus Statistical Service (Cystat). The index increased by 0.12% from December 2025 and by 1.09% compared with January 2025.


Index definition and overall changes

The Price Index of Construction Materials reflects the evolution of the cost of construction materials incurred by the contractor, the Statistical Service said.

Changes by main commodity category

The most significant annual increases were recorded in minerals, up 2.91%, and electromechanical products, up 2.55%. Products of wood, insulation materials, chemicals and plastics rose by 1.19%, while mineral products increased by 0.97%. Metallic products decreased by 0.49%.

Movements in specific sub-categories

Among sub-categories, mineral aggregates rose by 8.34% and stones increased by 4.97% compared with January 2025. Electrical fixtures increased by 4.65%, while iron and steel products fell by 1.73%. Ceramics and cements declined year on year by 1.47% and 1.38%, respectively.
