Nicosia, Cyprus. High cloud, strong winds and a risk of rain and isolated storms are expected across Cyprus in the coming days, with temperatures set to fall below seasonal averages by Wednesday.
Monday conditions
The met office said on Monday that light dust affecting the atmosphere earlier in the day would gradually clear, while increased high cloud would continue at intervals across the island.
Temperatures are expected to reach around 30C in Nicosia, 29C in Limassol, Larnaca and Famagusta, 25C in Paphos and Kyrenia, and 21C in Troodos.
Southwesterly winds during the day will reach up to 50km/hr.
Overnight outlook
Tonight, periods of increased high cloud will continue.
Temperatures are forecast to fall to around 16C in Nicosia, 18C in Limassol and 14C in Troodos.
Winds are expected to weaken gradually during the evening, remaining at around 15 to 30km/h.
Tuesday forecast
Conditions on Tuesday are expected to remain stable, with periods of increased high cloud and temperatures remaining close to seasonal averages across most parts of the island.
Change expected from Wednesday
A change in the weather pattern is forecast from Wednesday, with cloud cover increasing across Cyprus and local rain expected in several areas.
The met office said isolated thunderstorms could develop around midday and early afternoon, mainly affecting Troodos, Famagusta and Larnaca.
