Cyprus general treasury writes off over €1 million in overdue debts and uncollected revenue in 2025

Nicosia, Cyprus. Cyprus’ general treasury said it wrote off more than €1 million in overdue debts and uncollected revenue in 2025. It said the move aimed to support decision-making by prioritising arrears with higher prospects of recovery and presenting a clearer picture of the state’s assets.


Write-offs in 2025

The general treasury said losses and deficits written off in 2025 totalled €1,050,388.77. Of that amount, €1,033,955.72 related to sums over €1,000, while €16,433.05 related to sums below €1,000.

Comparison with 2024

For comparison, the total written off in 2024 was €2,170,293.30. That included €2,147,063.55 for sums exceeding €1,000 and €23,229.75 for sums below €1,000.
