Cyprus highlights tech ambitions at VivaTech 2026 in Paris

Paris, France. Cyprus reaffirmed its position as an emerging technology and innovation hub during its participation in the VivaTech 2026 international exhibition, held in Paris from June 17 to June 20. The Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry coordinated the country’s presence through its Paris Trade Centre.


Cyprus pavilion at international exhibition

The Cypriot pavilion showcased five local enterprises presenting advanced technological solutions to an international audience. According to the ministry, the companies engaged with representatives of major international groups and potential investors.

Record attendance and global participation

This year marked the tenth anniversary of VivaTech. The event recorded more than 200,000 visitors from 165 countries and hosted over 15,000 startups.

Strategic investment objective

The participation formed part of the ministry’s strategic objective to position Cyprus as a digital and technological gateway in the Eastern Mediterranean and Europe, while attracting high-value investments.

Focus areas and keynote participants

This edition of the exhibition focused on Artificial Intelligence and Productivity, Green Technology, and DeepTech. Keynote speakers included Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Sir Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web.

Political leaders and awards

The event was attended by French President Emmanuel Macron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. VivaTech also hosted awards honouring leaders in technology, with the CitizenTech Award presented to Ukraine.

Organisers’ statement

“VivaTech makes Paris the world capital of innovation, tech, and startups by bringing together all those who are inventing tomorrow,” the event’s co-presidents Maurice Lévy and Michèle Benbunan, and managing director François Bitouzet said.

“This 10th edition reaffirmed the event’s role: creating a space for exchange among all stakeholders from around the world, showcasing innovations that are transforming our societies, fostering connections between startups and investors, and highlighting all French and European innovations,” they added.
