Cyprus industrial production index rises 3.7% year-on-year in January 2026

Nicosia, Cyprus. The Statistical Service of Cyprus (Cystat) reported a 3.7% year-on-year increase in the Industrial Production Index in January 2026. The index reached 109.5 units, with 2021 as the base year at 100 units.


Sector performance

Cystat said the manufacturing sector recorded a 1.5% year-on-year increase. Electricity supply rose by 18.6%, while the water supply and materials recovery sector increased by 6.0%.

Mining and quarrying declined by 16.1% compared to January 2025.

Manufacturing subsectors

Within manufacturing, wood and products of wood and cork, excluding furniture, increased by 4.9%. Refined petroleum products, chemicals and pharmaceutical products grew by 3.2%, and basic metals and fabricated metal products also rose by 3.2%.

Food products, beverages and tobacco products posted a 1.9% increase. Paper and paper products and printing fell by 2.0%.
