Nicosia, Cyprus. Industrial production in Cyprus rose 2% in January 2026 from December 2025, despite declines across the European Union and the euro area, Eurostat said.
Euro area and EU monthly figures
Eurostat reported that seasonally adjusted industrial production fell 1.5% in the euro area and 1.6% in the EU in January 2026 compared with the previous month. The decline followed decreases in December 2025 of 0.6% in the euro area and 0.1% in the EU.
Cyprus reverses December decline
In Cyprus, the 2% increase in January 2026 reversed a 1.4% decline in December 2025. The rise followed earlier gains of 1.2% in November 2025 and 0.2% in October 2025.
Breakdown of euro area industrial output
In the euro area, intermediate goods output fell 1.9% and capital goods production declined 2.3% in January 2026. Durable consumer goods dropped 1.9%, while non-durable consumer goods fell 6.0%. Energy production was the only category to increase, rising 4.7% compared with December 2025.
EU-wide pattern
Across the EU, industrial production also declined in most categories in January 2026, mirroring the pattern seen in the euro area.
