Nicosia, Cyprus. Cyprus inflation increased in March 2026, with consumer prices rising compared with both the previous month and a year earlier, according to the state statistical service Cystat.

Cystat reports CPI increase and 1.2% annual inflation

Cystat said the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 1.21 points in March 2026 to 101.07 units, up from 99.86 units in February 2026. It added that annual inflation stood at 1.2% in March 2026.

Eurostat estimates higher annual inflation and monthly rise

Eurostat data released earlier in the week estimated annual inflation in Cyprus at 1.5% under the harmonised European methodology. The estimate indicated inflation accelerated from 0.9% in February 2026, and Eurostat’s flash estimate put monthly inflation at 1% in March 2026.

Comparison with March 2025 and euro area developments

Inflation in Cyprus remained below March 2025, when it reached 2.1%. Eurostat said inflation dynamics in Cyprus remain moderate compared with the euro area, where annual inflation is expected to reach 2.5% in March, up from 1.9% in February. The euro area increase was largely driven by higher energy prices, projected to rise 4.9% year-on-year, compared with a 3.1% decline in February.
