Nicosia, Cyprus. Cyprus police are continuing increased policing of critical infrastructure, spokesperson Vyron Vyronos said on Saturday, adding there is currently no information about any threat against the island.

Vyronos said all required security protocols had been activated and that the situation was being monitored in coordination with all competent services of the Republic.

He said preventive security measures were in place in light of developments in the Middle East, with high-risk areas being closely monitored by authorities, while reiterating that there was no information at this stage about any threat against the Republic of Cyprus.
