Paphos, Cyprus. More than €230 million is expected to flow into Paphos in 2026 and 2027 for 75 development and infrastructure projects, Transport Minister Alexis Vafeades said after meeting local authorities.

Funding package and project scope

Officials described the planned spending as a record package of projects and funding for the province, reflecting announcements made by President Nikos Christodoulides at the end of 2025 during the pan-district conference in Paphos.

Motorway and road priorities

Vafeades said the Paphos-Polis Chrysochous motorway remains a leading priority, with the government maintaining its position that it should be built as a four-lane road with additional access through Mesogi.

He added that priority this year is being given to improving the existing Paphos-Polis road until the new motorway is completed, advancing the western bypass of Paphos, and unblocking the new road to Paphos airport by resolving pending environmental issues.

Planned works in 2026 and other major projects

Works and upgrades are expected in 2026 on the road network in Geroskipou, Peyia and the suburban area of the municipality of Paphos, while larger projects, including the marina, are also being pushed forward.
