The representatives of the CTO stated that every year, approximately 8,000 civil marriages are made in Cyprus.
At least 5,000 couples are coming from the U.K. The newlyweds are often accompanied by friends and family, who are staying in Cyprus for approximately 7 to 10 days.
Due to the above, the commercial department examined few proposals which are aimed and the expansion and improvement of the wedding tourism in Cyprus.
Apart from U.K., Cyprus is a popular destination for people from Lebanon, Israel, UAE. Also efforts are made to promote the island in Indian, Chinese and Japanese markets.
