Cyprus police destroy more than 80kg of narcotics seized in Limassol and Larnaca cases

Nicosia, Cyprus. Cyprus police destroyed more than 80 kilogrammes of drugs on Thursday, authorities said. The narcotics were seized during investigations into 530 cases in the Limassol and Larnaca districts.


Destruction process and oversight

Ykan said the destruction procedures are organised and carried out at regular intervals in all districts. Police said the process is fully regulated, transparent and subject to strict controls.

Officials present

Police said representatives from the pharmaceutical services and the state laboratory were present during the destruction process, in addition to police representatives.

Evidence from concluded cases

Authorities said the narcotics destroyed had served as evidence in cases with completed legal proceedings.
