Cyprus posts 0.1% annual inflation in December 2025, among lowest in EU

Nicosia, Cyprus. Cyprus recorded one of the European Union’s lowest inflation rates in December 2025 as price pressures eased across the euro area and the bloc, according to Eurostat. The country’s annual inflation rate was 0.1%.


Cyprus remains below euro area and EU averages

Eurostat reported that the annual inflation rate in Cyprus stood at 0.1% in December 2025, placing it at the bottom of the EU inflation scale. The figure confirmed Cyprus remained well below euro area and EU averages.

Inflation eases across the euro area and European Union

Across the euro area, annual inflation fell to 1.9% in December 2025 from 2.1% in November. A year earlier, euro area inflation stood at 2.4%.
For the European Union as a whole, annual inflation eased to 2.3% in December 2025 compared with 2.4% in November, and was 2.7% a year earlier.

Lowest and highest inflation rates in the EU

Alongside Cyprus, France recorded an annual inflation rate of 0.7% in December, while Italy posted 1.2%. Romania recorded the highest annual inflation rate at 8.6%, followed by Slovakia at 4.1% and Estonia at 4.0%.
