Nicosia, Cyprus. Cyprus’s interior ministry said the deadline to register to vote in the upcoming parliamentary elections is April 2, urging new voters to apply well in advance. The ministry said no new registrations or changes will be made after that date.

Election date and eligibility

The parliamentary elections will be held on May 24. All citizens aged 18 and over who have been living in Cyprus for the past six months are eligible to vote.

Registration for those turning 18

Those turning 18 up to the day of the election can also register, provided the application is submitted during the last quarterly update of the electoral roll before the elections, from January 3 to April 2.

Turkish Cypriot voters

Turkish Cypriot holders of an ID issued by the Republic of Cyprus and an address in the south can also register.

How to apply

Applications can be obtained from and submitted at local district offices and citizen centres, as well as through the interior ministry website. New voters aged 25 and over can submit their applications online at elections.gov.cy.
