Nicosia, Cyprus. The Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) announced its Easter holiday schedule, outlining trading, clearing and settlement suspensions in April 2026. The measures cover both Catholic and Orthodox Easter holiday periods.

Catholic Easter dates and TARGET-related suspension

The CSE said that on April 3, 2026 and April 6, 2026, no trading sessions or clearing and settlement of transactions will take place due to the celebration of Catholic Easter. It attributed the suspension to the closure of the TARGET system, formally known as the Trans-European Automated Real-time Gross Settlement Express Transfer system, through which financial settlement of transactions is carried out. The exchange said its offices will remain open on those dates for other operations and public service.

Orthodox Easter holidays and full closure

The CSE said it will remain fully closed on April 10, 2026, April 13, 2026 and April 14, 2026, which are public and bank holidays for Orthodox Easter. It said no trading sessions or clearing and settlement of transactions will be conducted on those dates.

Impact on clearing house role for electricity market settlement

The exchange said the same arrangements apply to its role as the clearing house for the Cyprus Transmission System Operator. It added that it will not carry out financial settlement or related activities for the Competitive Electricity Market during the specified dates.
