Cyprus Symphony Orchestra announces March-April programme with five concerts across Cyprus

Nicosia, Cyprus. The Cyprus Symphony Orchestra has announced its artistic programme for March and April, featuring five concert programmes across Cyprus. The season includes tributes, international guest artists, an Easter concert, chamber music, and a premiere performance.


Tribute to Vicky Stylianou

The programme opens with a Tribute to Vicky Stylianou on March 5 at Pallas Theatre and March 6 at Markideio Municipal Theatre. The Cyprus Symphony Orchestra will honour the pianist and orchestrator’s memory under the baton of the orchestra’s honourary conductor Alkis Baltas, with Greek violist Antonis Manias as soloist.

Starlight 4 concert

The Starlight 4 concert is scheduled for March 18 at Pattihio Municipal Theatre and March 19 at Strovolos Municipal Theatre. Clarinetist Sharon Kam and conductor Michalis Economou will join the orchestra for a programme featuring two romantic masterpieces.

Rutter: Requiem series

April’s concerts begin with the Rutter: Requiem series on April 2 at Rialto Theatre and April 3 at Strovolos Municipal Theatre. The orchestra will be joined by sopranos Mariza Anastasiades and Eleni Charalambous, the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra Choir, and conductor Levan Jagaev to present works by John Rutter and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Duo Noima & Rami Sarieddine

A chamber music programme featuring Duo Noïma—Virginie Bove and Eleni Kappa—and pianist Rami Sarieddine will take place on April 23 at Markideio Municipal Theatre and on April 24 at Pallas Theatre in Nicosia.

Premiere 5 concert

The spring programme concludes with the Premiere 5 concert on April 29 in Nicosia and April 30 in Larnaca. The concert will feature works by Bach, Rachmaninov and Schumann, conducted by Charles Olivieri-Munroe with Cypriot pianist Christos Fountos as soloist.
