Cyprus to present new tax reform to Greek businesses and investors in Athens on April 21

Athens, Greece. A presentation of Cyprus’ new tax reform will be held in Athens on April 21, targeting Greek businesses and investors, after being postponed due to the war in the Middle East.


Event details and purpose

The event will take place from 10.00 to 14.30 at the Theocharakis Foundation Amphitheatre in central Athens, opposite the Greek Parliament. It aims to provide detailed information to Greek businesses on recent changes to Cyprus’ tax system, amid rising investment flows from Greece to Cyprus.

Presentations and speakers

Tax Commissioner Sotiris A. Markides will deliver the main presentation on the structure and key elements of the new tax framework. Audit and legal firms will also present services tailored to Greek businesses and investors, highlighting opportunities linked to the updated system.

Opening remarks will be delivered by Cyprus ambassador to Athens Stavros Avgoustides, Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Stavros Stavrou, and Cyprus–Greece Business Association president Iosif Iosif.

Further speakers include Enterprise Greece president and secretary general for international economic relations and extroversion of the Greek foreign ministry Dimitrios Skalkos. Invest Cyprus director general Marios Tannousis is expected to address investment prospects tied to the reform. ICPAC president Odysseas Christodoulou and Cyprus Bar Association president Michalis Vorkas will provide professional and legal perspectives.

The presentation is being held under the auspices of the Cyprus embassy in Greece, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Cyprus–Greece Business Association and Invest Cyprus.
