Cyprus tourist arrivals decline in June as Eurobank receives Euromoney awards

Nicosia, Cyprus. Tourist arrivals to Cyprus declined by 1.7 per cent in June compared with the same month last year, according to the Cyprus Statistical Service. Separately, Eurobank said it was named Cyprus’ best bank for 2026 by Euromoney.

Tourist arrivals

A total of 489,965 tourists arrived in Cyprus in June 2026, compared with 498,527 in June 2025.

For the January-June period, arrivals reached 1,656,015, down 10.1 per cent from 1,843,013 recorded during the corresponding period last year.

The June decline was smaller than the sharper contractions recorded earlier in the year. The tourism sector remained below last year’s performance following a difficult spring affected by regional geopolitical uncertainty.

The United Kingdom remained Cyprus’ largest tourism market in June, accounting for 33.0 per cent of arrivals, with 161,913 visitors.

Eurobank awards

Eurobank announced that international financial publication Euromoney named it Cyprus’ best bank for 2026 and awarded it best bank for large corporates at its latest Awards for Excellence.

The bank said the awards recognised its performance and strategic initiatives during 2025, including the completion of the legal merger between Hellenic Bank and Eurobank Cyprus.

The Euromoney evaluation covered the period from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025.

Eurobank said the merger resulted in the creation of Eurobank Limited, which it described as Cyprus’ largest banking and insurance organisation, with total assets exceeding €28 billion.
