Cyprus Union of Shipowners inaugurates new offices at consecration ceremony

Nicosia, Cyprus. The Cyprus Union of Shipowners (CUS) inaugurated its new offices during a consecration ceremony attended by Shipping Deputy Minister Marina Hadjimanolis. The event marked a new chapter for the maritime organisation.


Consecration and attendees

The blessing was performed by Protopresbyter Michael Michael, with the deputy minister’s attendance reflecting long-standing cooperation between the state and the shipping community. Those present included CUS president Polys Hajioannou, executive committee members George Mouskas and Zacharias Zachariou, board members Kyriacos Mouskas and Mark Klerides, as well as association members and officials from the Deputy Ministry of Shipping.

Focus on cooperation and sector outlook

Participants exchanged wishes and discussed the sector’s outlook, reiterating a shared objective to further strengthen Cypriot shipping. The new premises are intended to function as a modern hub for coordination and cooperation, aligned with the role Cyprus shipping maintains at European and international level.

Against geopolitical and economic pressures affecting global maritime transport, participants highlighted the importance of continued cooperation between the state and shipowners to safeguard the competitiveness of the Cyprus registry and reinforce the wider maritime cluster. The event concluded with attendees reaffirming their commitment to continued collaboration for the benefit of the shipping sector and the broader economy.
