Cyprus urges full implementation of ceasefire agreement in north-east Syria

Nicosia, Cyprus. Cyprus reaffirmed its support for Syria’s stability as essential for regional security and urged all parties to implement a ceasefire, the foreign ministry said on Tuesday.


Call for ceasefire implementation

In a post on X, the ministry said Cyprus was closely following the situation in north-east Syria and urged all parties to fully implement the ceasefire and the agreement reached between government authorities and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

Unity and rights

The ministry said implementation was vital for peaceful integration by ensuring Syria’s unity and safeguarding the rights of the Kurdish population.

Support for stability

The ministry reiterated that Syria’s stability is essential for regional security.
