Limassol, Cyprus. The Deputy Ministry of Shipping hosted an official dinner in Limassol this week on the sidelines of the High-Level Ministerial Stakeholders Conference on Seafarers, held as part of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU.

Official dinner and attendees

Deputy Shipping Minister Marina Hadjimanolis welcomed the conference speakers and representatives of the shipping industry, emphasising the need for international cooperation and stronger support for the maritime workforce.

The dinner brought together representatives from Tsakos Shipping and Trading S.A., the Cyprus Embassy in Athens Maritime Office, the Cyprus in UK Maritime Office, and the Cyprus Union of Shipowners (CUS). Eliza Vozemberg also attended.

Conference focus

The gathering formed part of wider discussions taking place in Limassol on the role of seafarers and challenges facing global shipping.

The conference, hosted by the Deputy Ministry of Shipping on April 28, focused on issues affecting seafarers as the maritime industry faces pressure from geopolitical instability, labour shortages, regulatory change, and the need to safeguard crew welfare.
