Drunk driver arrested after pursuit and collisions with patrol vehicles in Aradippou

Aradippou, Cyprus. Police said on Friday they arrested a drunk driver on Thursday for multiple traffic violations after he collided with two patrol vehicles during a pursuit. The 38-year-old was apprehended after driving into a dead end.


Pursuit and collisions

Police said the incident began around 6.40pm when officers pursued a vehicle in Aradippou after the driver failed to stop. They said he ran a red light and collided with two patrol vehicles before being apprehended.

Alleged offences and test result

Investigators said the man was driving without a licence, safety certificate, or certificate of suitability, and that the vehicle’s registration was suspended. An alcotest recorded 39μg, above the legal limit of 22μg.
