Limassol, Cyprus. Eleven Blue Events said 1,650 kilograms of medals from three of its events will be handed to a local blacksmith as part of an effort to reduce the environmental footprint of its races.
Recycling initiative
The organiser said the initiative is part of its social and environmental responsibility actions, aiming to reduce the environmental footprint of events and promote sustainable practices in sports.

The company said the project is intended to reinforce the circular economy, with benefits for both the environment and the local community.
Events included
The medals are from the XM Limassol Marathon, the Radisson Blu Larnaca International Marathon and the Bank of Cyprus Nicosia Marathon.
