Santa Fe, United States. New evidence referenced in the “Epstein files” has brought renewed attention to Jeffrey Epstein’s isolated New Mexico estate, with allegations about abuse and other claims linked to the property. Reports have also raised questions about whether the ranch was ever comprehensively searched by federal authorities.

Allegations tied to Zorro Ranch

The property known as “Zorro Ranch,” also referred to as the “Playboy Ranch,” is a 7,500-acre estate that witnesses have described as a private retreat where systematic sexual abuse and exploitation of minors took place.

A Daily Mail report said that while federal authorities searched Epstein’s properties in New York, Palm Beach, and his private island, there was no indication a comprehensive search was conducted at the New Mexico ranch.

Court documents and claims of eugenics obsession

Court documents cited in the report suggest Epstein harboured an obsession with eugenics. Witnesses alleged he expressed intentions to create a “genetically superior” generation of children using his own DNA, and that he discussed plans with scientists and investors to impregnate women at the isolated property.

Unconfirmed burial allegations and calls for inquiry

The investigation also cited unconfirmed reports alleging that girls who died during sexual acts were buried on the ranch grounds. The report said these claims remain under investigation and have not been confirmed by court rulings, but have increased pressure for a full inquiry into the site.

Sale of the property and ongoing scrutiny

Zorro Ranch was sold in 2023 to a limited liability company and renamed San Rafael Ranch, according to the report. The identity of the new owner remains unknown.

Epstein died in a New York federal prison in 2019, but his network of high-profile contacts and the extent of his activities continue to face legal and political scrutiny, with the New Mexico estate remaining a focus of the ongoing investigation.

What steps, if any, should authorities take to determine whether a comprehensive search of the New Mexico ranch is needed?
