Paphos, Cyprus. ERB Asfalistiki and the Cyprus Fire Service held a public open day in Paphos as part of Fire Safety Week 2026 to raise awareness about fire prevention. The event took place on Saturday, April 25, at the Paphos medieval castle.

Fire prevention message and aims

According to a company statement, the event carried the main message, “Let’s not leave our dreams turn into ashes!” and marked the culmination of joint initiatives by ERB Asfalistiki and the Cyprus Fire Service implemented throughout the year. The statement said the primary objective was to inform and educate the public on fire prevention and effective protection measures.

Activities and demonstrations

Visitors were able to see fire trucks and firefighting equipment up close, while members of the fire service provided guidance on prevention and extinguishing techniques. Children took part in activities designed for them, including rides on two children’s fire trucks donated by ERB Asfalistiki.

Support and long-term cooperation

The event was held under the auspices of Justice Minister Costas Fytiris and was supported by Live Link, with representatives distributing informational material and symbolic gifts. ERB Asfalistiki thanked the Municipality of Paphos for its cooperation and contribution to the event’s implementation, and said it has worked with the Cyprus Fire Service for 25 consecutive years to protect human life, property, and the environment while enhancing public awareness of fire-related risks.
