Nicosia, Cyprus. Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhurman said he would not engage in a blame game through the press over the Cyprus problem, citing critical statements from the Greek Cypriot side.
Erhurman’s response
In a social media post on Monday, Erhurman said, “we will continue our course with patience, composure, seriousness and determination.”
Comments from the Greek Cypriot side
Erhurman was speaking after Greek Cypriot negotiator Menelaous Menelaou repeated comments made by President Nikos Christodoulides on Sunday concerning an opinion piece released by UN envoy Maria Angela Holguin.
Menelaou said Holguin was wrong to hold both sides equally accountable for the lack of progress.
