Brussels, Belgium. Seasonally adjusted services production across the European Union contracted in November 2025, according to Eurostat. The EU fell 0.5 per cent month-on-month and the euro area declined 0.6 per cent after marginal growth in October.

Monthly and annual changes

Eurostat said services production rose 0.1 per cent in both the EU and the euro area in October 2025, before reversing in November. On an annual basis, services production increased 0.3 per cent in the euro area and 0.2 per cent in the EU compared with November 2024.

Sector performance in the euro area

Within the euro area, transportation and storage fell by 0.7 per cent in November, while professional, scientific, and technical activities also declined by 0.7 per cent. Administrative and support services decreased by 0.6 per cent, and real estate activities fell by 0.3 per cent.

Information and communication recorded a monthly decline of 0.1 per cent, as did accommodation and food services.

Cyprus services confidence strengthens

In Cyprus, services business confidence strengthened further in January 2026, supported by improved expectations, according to the Economics Research Centre of the University of Cyprus. The increase in services confidence helped to almost fully offset a marginal decline of 0.2 points in the Economic Sentiment Indicator, which was weighed down by retail and construction.

Expectations for turnover in the next quarter strengthened after two months of decline, while capacity utilisation in accommodation and food services remained stable at the highest level reached since the pandemic.
