Eurobank appoints John Arthur Hollows to audit committee after vacancy

Eurobank Limited headquarters, Nicosia, Cyprus

Nicosia, Cyprus. Eurobank announced on Monday that its board of directors appointed John Arthur Hollows, an independent non-executive board member, as a new member of the audit committee. The appointment restores the committee to its five-member composition following the resignation of Jawaid Mirza.

Appointment confirmed

The appointment was finalised during a board meeting held on June 26, 2026. Eurobank said the move was made to fill the vacancy created by Mirza’s resignation.

Committee structure restored

The bank said the appointment returns the audit committee to the five-member structure originally determined by the annual general meeting of shareholders on July 23, 2024.

Leadership and membership

Following the appointment, the audit committee reconstituted its membership and confirmed its leadership structure. Burkhard Eckes, an independent non-executive director, will serve as chairman of the committee.

The other members are Rajeev Kakar, Irene Rouvitha Panou, Alice Gregoriadi and John Arthur Hollows, all serving as independent non-executive directors.
