Eurobank holds first aid training for employees’ children in Nicosia

Nicosia, Cyprus. Eurobank organised a first aid training event in Nicosia for the children of its employees, offering hands-on instruction for participants aged six to twelve. The event was held as part of the bank’s #VolunteersChallenge volunteer action.

Programme and organisers

The training combined learning with practical demonstrations and activities for children between the ages of six and twelve. It was organised by Eurobank’s human resources unit in cooperation with the State Health Services Organisation (Okypy) ambulance service directorate and training office.

Aims of the initiative

Organisers said the initiative aimed to teach basic first aid practices while strengthening children’s confidence, sense of responsibility and empathy. The session used music and interactive presentations to help children learn how to respond during an emergency.

First aid skills covered

Children were taught how to call for immediate help, how to react if someone loses consciousness, how to place a person in the recovery position, and how to perform basic chest compressions. Participants were also shown how to identify and locate an automated external defibrillator in public spaces, commonly referred to as an AED.

Road safety component

The session included discussions and practical examples on road safety, covering safe behaviour on the road and inside vehicles. Emphasis was placed on wearing helmets and protective equipment when travelling by bicycle, scooter or other personal mobility devices.
