Nicosia, Cyprus. Exit polls in Cyprus indicate that Disy will be the largest party in the new parliament, while Elam is set to rise to third place, overtaking Diko. Akel is forecast to finish second for the fourth parliamentary election in a row.
Vote share forecasts
Both of Cyprus’ main parties are expected to lose vote share compared with five years ago. Disy is projected to win between 22.5% and 25.5% of the vote, while Akel is forecast to take between 21% and 24%.
Elam is expected to win between 10.5% and 12.5%, while Diko is forecast to secure between 8% and 10%, which would be the party’s worst result.
Smaller parties
Direct Democracy Cyprus, led by social media influencer Fidias Panayiotou, is expected to win between 5.5% and 7.5% of the vote.
Former auditor-general Odysseas Michaelides’ Alma is forecast to win between 4.5% and 5.5%, while Volt and Edek are each expected to win between 3% and 4%.
The Ecologists’ Movement, Dipa and the Hunters’ Movement are all forecast to win between 2% and 3% of the vote, making it unlikely that any of the three will return members to the House.
