Barcelona, Spain. Factorial is expanding its AI-driven business management platform and prioritising South-Eastern Europe after securing Series D funding that valued the company at $2.5 billion.
Investment and expansion
The Barcelona-based company, which began as an HR software provider, is investing in artificial intelligence, product development and international expansion as small and medium-sized enterprises seek integrated digital tools beyond human resources.
Petros-Emmanouil Panagopoulos, Partnership Market Lead at Factorial, said the funding would support the company’s investment in AI, product development and local market expansion.
He said businesses increasingly need technology that reduces administrative work and enables employees to focus on higher-value tasks.
Regional focus
Panagopoulos said South-Eastern Europe has a growing number of small and mid-sized businesses seeking to digitalise without increasing complexity.
He said Factorial aims to provide enterprise-grade AI capabilities that are intuitive, trusted and accessible, while investing in local teams and partnerships that understand regional business needs.
AI adoption
Panagopoulos said businesses need to shift from viewing software as a place where work is carried out to seeing it as a system that actively helps complete work.
He said Cyprus and neighbouring countries are among the higher adopters of AI, with businesses using it in daily tasks to generate greater return on investment per employee.
According to Panagopoulos, AI can reduce the need for employees to navigate multiple systems, manually enter information and complete repetitive processes. He said it can act as an intelligent assistant that understands context, automates routine work and supports faster decision-making.
