FemNEST launches in Paphos to address women’s health and financial security

Paphos, Cyprus. A new local initiative, FemNEST, has been launched to address the intersection of women’s health and financial security and to narrow the gender wealth gap.

Platform focus and goals

FemNEST is a Paphos-founded platform aimed at helping women achieve financial freedom at different life stages, including fertility struggles, menopause, chronic illness and career pivots. Organisers said the platform aims to address the gender wealth gap, citing that women in Cyprus retire with 38.2 per cent less wealth than men, that across Europe women hold 77 per cent of the wealth men do, and that globally 750 million women still lack access to basic financial services.

AI-powered community platform

Starting in Cyprus and scaling to the EU and globally, FemNEST is building an AI-powered community platform that combines peer support with intelligent financial guidance. The organisers said the platform combines technology, community and advocacy to address systemic barriers, and was created by women for women, building from a personal journey of financial crisis to finding solutions.

Founder’s account

Founder Serene G said she navigated PCOS, fertility treatments and caring for her son who was born with a medical condition, while managing financial instability from freelance work. She said her experience highlighted how financial stress can compound health challenges and how health crises can create financial vulnerability.
