Limassol, Cyprus. A fire broke out in an old building in the centre of Limassol at noon on Thursday, with officials saying it likely began during roof insulation work. No one was injured.
Fire believed to have started during roof insulation work
The fire department said the blaze appeared to have started during roof insulation work in a building near Tepak.
Response and evacuations
Fire department spokesman Andreas Kettis said four fire trucks extinguished the fire. Tenants of adjacent premises left their premises for safety.
Roof collapse and current status
The fire caused part of the roof of the building to collapse, but is now under control.
