Pera Orinis, Cyprus. A forest fire that broke out on Monday morning in the ‘Frangissa’ area of Pera Orinis in the Nicosia district has been brought under control, according to the forestry department.
Fire brought under control
The forestry department said the fire started at 7.18am and was placed under control at 7.43am.
Firefighting response
The operation involved 12 forestry department firefighters with four fire engines and three fire brigade firefighters with one fire engine. Civilians with tractors also assisted in the firefighting effort.
Investigation ongoing
Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
