GRAPES / Sips & Scenes to bring wine, vinyl DJ sets and talks to ARTos House on April 5

Nicosia, Cyprus. GRAPES / Sips & Scenes will be held on April 5 at ARTos House in Nicosia, combining wine tasting, vinyl DJ sets and discussions on wine culture. The event is organised by Glorious Grapes and granazi and will feature 34 wines from 11 wineries across Spain, Greece and Cyprus.


Wine selection and tasting format

All featured wines will be available at the bar for tasting, by the glass or by the bottle. The Grapes/Shop will also offer bottles and gift boxes for purchase.

Private tasting inside ARTos House

A limited-capacity private tasting of six wines, curated by Stavros Zacharia, will take place inside the ancient tomb of ARTOS House. Advanced bookings for this experience are available via www.klisto.com.cy.

Talks schedule and speakers

The event begins at 4pm, with talks starting one-and-a-half hours later. Maria Massoura and Andreas Georgiades will discuss “What is Wine?” Loukas Papaloucas of Mystes Winery and Ploutis Sozou of Ezousa Winery will take part in a session on Indigenous and International Grape Varieties in the Cypriot Vineyard.

Panayiotis Mentzis from Zanettos Tavern and Michalis Vryonidis from Cascadeur Bar in Lympia will discuss “Cypriot Wine in Gastronomy: Past, Present and Future,” followed by Zambartas Winery’s Charis Evangelou speaking on Cypriot wine abroad. The programme is set to close with “Indegenous Varieties of Cyprus” at 7.30pm.

Music, food and entry details

The event will include vinyl DJ sets and freshly made pasta by Chefs Andrew and Imogen. It is scheduled to run from 4pm to 12am, with entry priced at €10.
